COVID-19 Safety Plan

Morden’s Organic Farm Store is committed to caring for the health and well-being of our customers and our employees.  

How are we doing?
COVID-19 Inspection:  A recent visit from a COVID-19 government inspector gave us rave reviews, saying we are doing a great job!

As we navigate through this COVID-19 pandemic, we have made a number of changes to ensure we continue to offer a safe environment for our customers to shop in and our staff to come to work. 

Masks are required; however customers with medical exemptions are welcome to shop in our store. 

How we’re ensuring workers know how to keep themselves safe from exposure to COVID-19:

  • We maintain a daily record where our staff self-monitor and log-in in the morning.
  • We are listening to and understanding the concerns of our staff.
  • We are open for our full store hours, which gives our staff the opportunity to continue to earn their full compensation as well as enabling more space per customer per hour.
  • While we are encouraging our staff to follow Canadian health authority guidance as they serve; we do not force anyone to work.
Creating a Safe Environment for Our Customers:
  • Increased Routine Cleaning:  Increased sanitization of common areas such as countertops, cash lanes, and bathroom door handles. A Hand & Cart Sanitization station has been set up at the front entrance of our store. 
  • Air Purification: Hospital-grade air purifications systems are installed throughout the store.
  • Social Distancing Measures: Our cash register area has plexiglass installed and we remind everyone to maintain social distancing of 6 feet.
  • Prioritizing Good Hygiene: Implementing continuous reminders about good hygiene practices and reminding staff to wash hands every 15 minutes.  
  • Reusable Bags:  If you choose to use reusable bags, we ask that you pack your own.
  • Suspending All Sampling In-Store: All food and beverage sampling in stores have stopped until further notice.
  • Staying Informed: Closely monitoring the situation, and regularly providing all of our store staff with the most up-to-date safety guidelines, as recommended by Health Canada and other health officials. 
  • Contactless Pickup: Curbside Pickup is being promoted and recommended to our customers through our website, mailing list, and social media.

We now have hospital-grade Saviair 5000 air purification systems throughout the store, adding an additional level of safety and cleaning to our existing procedures. These systems are rated to completely remove airborne pollutants such as the Covid-19 virus, Common Cold virus, Flu virus, Sars virus, bacteria, toxic mould, V.O.C.s and more, down to .01 microns, which is even smaller than the best HEPA type filters on the market today.

This is a vital step in creating an even safer work and shopping environment.

CURBSIDE PICKUP UPDATE: Extra Feature!
On top of our regular curbside pickup option, which includes our pickup area freezer and fridge, we will also be offering a direct-to-trunk option for curbside pickups. Should you choose this option, you will need to call the store upon your arrival so that we can have someone bring your order out to place it in your trunk.

Our goal is to continue to provide you with a safe and healthy way to keep shopping for all your favourite meats, pickles, preserves, and more!

Our first priority is the health and safety of our customers and employees, and we continue to update our policies and processes as required so you can continue to enjoy your experience when you shop with us. Whether you come in-store, make use of our curbside pickup options, or place an order for home delivery, we are taking every precaution to keep you safe.

In keeping with the newest region colour-coding system regulations, we are still making sure to limit the number of customers in the store at any time, as well as providing complimentary masks for anybody who needs one. We also sell multi-layer cotton masks with a pocket for additional filter layers. A hand-washing and sanitization station is available at the entry to the store, and we also sell a variety of bottle sizes of Environize - a safe and effective sanitization product that you can use for your hands, car, and home.
